In 1946, Marcelino Curell Suñol founded the Firm, which became a limited liability company in 1977 under the name Dr. Ing. M. Curell Suñol I.I., S.L. In 2009, it was adapted to become a Professional Limited Liability Company (Sociedad Limitada Profesional) and its name was changed to CURELL SUÑOL S.L.P.
He formerly worked as a professor of the Course to be admitted at the Superior School of Industrial Engineers of Barcelona. He was also a member by public competition exam of the Industrial Engineers Body at the service of the Ministry of Industry (of which he requested a voluntary leave in 1953).
Industrial Engineer by the Superior School of Industrial Engineers of Barcelona (1943) and Doctor Industrial Engineer by the same School (1964). In 1955, he was appointed Industrial Property Attorney before the Industrial Property Registry (at present the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office); in 1986 he was appointed European Patent Attorney.
He was co-founder, in 1963, of the Spanish Group of AIPPI, of which he became President. He was appointed Member of Honour of the Spanish Group of this association and later of the International association.
He was President of the Spanish Section of FICPI, of which he was also appointed Member of Honour.
He was an active member of the Spanish Association of Industrial Property Attorneys (COAPI), of which he was the representative for Catalonia for many years. Because of his outstanding contribution, he was appointed Member of Honour of COAPI.
He was co-founder, in 1987, of the Association of Spanish Attorneys authorized to act before IP International Organizations (AGESORPI), of which he became President and, at the end of his mandate, he was appointed President of Honour. Through AGESORPI he closely worked with OHIM and organized a number of Seminars on Community Trademarks and Designs, as well as on Patents.
Sworn Translator-Interpreter of Spanish, French, English, German and Italian appointed by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Lecturer in a number of national and international conferences and author of relevant articles in specialized publications in the field of Industrial Property.
In July 1998, he was awarded the Medal President Macià, granted by the Generalitat de Catalunya for his dedication, perseverance and initiative in work.
